Police DPO has been kidnap in Adamawa.

The police DPO ( Divisional Police Officer) for Mubi North LGA  Mr. Ahijo Mujeli has been kidnap in Adamawa state.

Mujeli was kidnapped on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, on his way from Yola, the capital of the state, according to residents who are aware of the incident.

This news is also affirmed by the Adamawa police command, he also added that the suspected kidnappers are already being tracked.

As the outbreak of kidnapping in the country continues, another senior police officer has been reportedly abducted by unknown gunmen.

The spokesperson of the Adamawa police command, Suleiman Nguroje, has also confirmed the abduction, the report added.

A resident of the area said:

The incident of the kidnap happen while he was driving in his personal car around 6.30 p.m., along

 Mubi-Maraba road.

“There were gunshots around the area. When our men arrived, they met an empty car identified as his.”

He added that the anti-kidnapping unit and Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Inspector-General of Police is already trailing the suspected kidnappers.

Nguroje also called on the members of the public with relevant security information on criminals to avail the

command the same for necessary action.

The senior police officer was traveling in his civil dress, with his private vehicle and without escort or any special

security at the time of the incident.
