Nigerians EndSars Protest is still on.

The Governor of Rivers State, Governor Nyesom Wike has banned all forms of protests in Rivers State.

So, In his tweet below, the Governor prohibited all proposed protest under the #EndSars campaign.

Wike says this decision is take because the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had already scrapped the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

Therefore, there is no need for any form of protest against a Unit of the Police Force that no longer exists.

He also gave a warning statement through his Commissioner for Information Paulinus Nsirim.

“Parents and Guardians are therefore advised to ensure that their children or wards do not violate this order.

Law enforcement agencies are also directed to ensure that the ban is enforced and that violators are brought to book”. – Paulinus Nsirim.

However, Youths across the country who had taken to the streets to kick against the brutality and extrajudicial killings by the operatives of the Sars police unit took to their twitter handles and reacted to this.

Nigerians EndSars Protest is still going on in twitter.

We condemn the directive by Rivers State governor, Nyesome Wike that all forms of protests in the state are banned. Also, Governor Wike can not stop any Nigerian from exercising his/her constitutionally guaranteed right to freely assemble and protest peacefully. #SARSMUSTEND. – Concerned Nigerians (twitter handle)

Governor Wike has only gotten people angrier and made things worse when other Governors are desperately looking for solutions.Hence, Protesting is a fundamental right guaranteed by the constitution. His comments might further embolden crazy police officers.- #SARSMUSTEND. – Dr. Dípò Awójídé
