Block Sim card without NIN, NCC tells telecommunication networks providers to carry out this action by the beginning of next year.
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has guided broadcast communications administrators to hinder all SIM cards not enrolled with National Identification Numbers (NIN) before the finish of 2020.
The commission had a week ago arranged the suspension of new SIM card enlistment while it led a review of cards previously enrolled by networks administrators.
At a gathering directed by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, it was concluded that all supporters are to give substantial NIN to refresh SIM enrollment records.

The NIN is given by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) upon enrolment into the National Identity Database and is utilized to catch a person’s records.
NCC representative, Dr Ikechukwu Adinde, said accommodation of NIN by endorsers should occur from December 16 to December 30.
“After the cutoff time, all SIMs without NINs are to be hindered from the organizations,” he said.
A Ministerial Task Force has been entrusted with checking consistence by all organizations, and infringement will be met with hardened approvals including the chance of withdrawal of working permit.
Adinde said partners concurred at Tuesday’s gathering that extraordinary measures earnestly should have been executed to improve the trustworthiness and straightforwardness of the SIM enrollment measure in Nigeria.
