Belarus President Lukashenko requests support from Russia’s Vladimir Putin.
President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus has arrived in Russia.
The Belarus president went to meet leader Vladimir Putin.
He went in the quest for Moscow’s support after a fifth consecutive weekend of huge protests demanding his resignation.
The Belarusian Opposition accuses Mr. Lukashenko of rigging last month’s presidential election, which he says he won fairly with 80 percent of the vote.
The outcome of the Belarusian leader is in Mr. Putin’s hands as he faces the worst crisis of his 26 years in power.
